About Futurizon
Note: this site is now
a mirror copy of Futurizon.com. Futurizon.com is no longer connected with the
futures wiki FutureNovo nor Richard
Yonck, but their site is worth a visit anyway.
Futurizon was set up
initially as a speaker agency, but has recently expanded to engage in a variety
of futures activities, including consultancy, strategy assistance, conference
speaking, commissioned writing, media work and consultancy. One of our main
purposes is to influence thinking to help make the world a better place, so
some of our advice and written output is free. You will hopefully find our
Futures A-Z both useful and entertaining.
Futurizon aims to explore all aspects of the future, without
constraint, starting from an analysis of likely technology developments and
using clear thinking to figure out likely consequences across the board of
society, politics and business, and to make appropriate recommendations. It
provides an independent view of the future, unconstrained by the academic’s
need to attract funding or the corporate futurologist’s concerns over impact of
results on corporate brand image or market positioning.
Everyone wonders what
the future will bring. Many people and their companies are concerned and want
advice, and we are here to help. No-one can see the future with total clarity -
it is like trying to spot shapes through fog - but blurred vision
is better than none at all. Futurizon's in-house
futurologist is Ian Pearson, who recently left BT, having established their futurology work. He spends a great deal of
time reading, attending conferences and talking to engineers and uses these
inputs as a starting point for thinking about all aspects of the future.
We also have excellent relationships with many other futurologists, with whom
we work on other projects from time to time.
